Back to when the class did its first beat story I had an interesting experience. It wasn't much of an experience though.
As I found my beat to be intramural sports I still did not know what specific topic to choose. I didn't know who to interview or what to do. I asked Donna's advice and all she said was to find someone to interview and figure the story out later.
I set up an interview with Coordinator of Intramural Sports Micah Walters. During the interview he told me all about a fairly new intramural sport--flag football.
It was after that interview I learned a part of reporting, if you have no story just start interviewing people and it should shape up in front of you.
